Wick Academy to face Huntly in first round of Scottish Cup
Wick Academy have been drawn away to Huntly in the first round of this season’s Scottish Cup.
It will be one of three all-Highland League ties over the weekend of September 28 and it means the Scorries will have two cup-tie away days against Huntly this autumn. They will also take on the Black-and-Golds in a Highland League Cup first-round tie at Christie Park on November 9.
The teams met in a league game at Christie Park last month when Huntly ran out 3-0 winners.
Academy fell at the first hurdle in the Scottish Cup last season, losing 3-1 to Jeanfield Swifts at Harmsworth Park.
The Highland League’s bottom club Strathspey Thistle picked up their first win of the season on Saturday as they beat managerless Lossiemouth 3-0 in Grantown.

Aaron Nicolson’s penalty and a Scot Docherty effort had Thistle 2-0 ahead at half-time and Juan Cardona made sure of the points. The Coasters parted company with boss Eddie Wolecki Black after just seven matches in charge.
Buckie Thistle’s revival was halted by leaders Brechin City, who won 2-0 at Victoria Park with goals by John Moreland and Dayle Robertson (penalty).
Clachnacuddin moved up to third with a 3-1 win away to Deveronvale. Connor Bunce, Jack Davison and Josh Meekings scored for the Lilywhites, with Harry Noble netting a consolation penalty for Vale.
