Victory for Ann, Alison and Fiona in Thurso three-team event

Overall winners of Thurso Golf Club's three-team event for ladies were Ann Mackay (Doha), Alison Campbell (Thurso) and Fiona MacLeod (Thurso) with a score of 55.

Overall runners-up on 62 were Rebecca Munro, Jacqui Greig and Amanda Snashall (all Reay), while overall third went to the Thurso trio of Rachel Durrand, Morag Mackay and Moira McBeath, also with 62.

It was one of a number of ladies' competitions held during July.

The July Medal went to Angela Williamson with a nett 73, ahead of Morag Mackay on 75.

Eileen Manson won the July Extra Medal with a nett 70, while the runner-up on 74 was Lyndsay Stott.

Aileen Simmonite was the Mackay Cup winner with a score of nett 71, with Emma Durrand (nett 73) in second place.

Nine ladies from Thurso competed in the Durness Open. Jean Clasper won first handicap, while Laura Durrand was first scratch and nearest the pin.
