Thurso Golf Club's summer season got under way with the annual Captain v Vice-Captain team matchplay competition.

Sunny but cool conditions, with a slight wind, made for a good day for the opener. The competition was close all day and came down to the deciding pairs to tip the score in favour of captain Bryan Suttar's team for a narrow 7.5-6.5 victory.

Sunday saw the Captain's Stableford. With competitors turning out at various times in the day, a fine afternoon round from Bryan Suttar (34 points) saw him claim the victory by one point over Scott Gray.
