Senior Stableford success for Paterson with 37-point tally
The weather limited opportunities for competitive golf over the past week at Reay, but there was some action on the course between the storms.
In the latest North Point Senior Stableford action, club captain Carol Paterson triumphed with an excellent tally of 37 points.
Her victory came courtesy of a fine round of 79 which included a birdie at the 15th hole.
Some steady play from Jock Eunson saw him take second place on 36 points, two ahead of Jack Johnstone, who played the par-three holes well on his way to 34 points.
David R Craig and Murdo Macdonald were next best after both finished on 32 points.
In the overall standings, Malcolm Thomson leads the way on a six-round aggregate score of 218, with Fred Groves and Alex Anderson his nearest challengers on 210.
In the latest round of the Winter League Stableford competition, a fast start helped Helen Gisbey to victory on a fine tally of 39 points.
A birdie at the 14th helped Ronald Matheson to second place on 38, two ahead of Colin Struthers and Jimmy Meiklejohn, who both finished on 36. A birdie at the ninth provided the highlight of Meiklejohn’s round.
This Saturday will see the women and men competing in their respective February medals, while on Sunday both the women and men will be able to play in the latest round of the Winter League Stableford.
