Entries in the Caithness Riding Club's winter dressage league competition were once again high with 45 tests ridden throughout Saturday.

For the second time running Sarah Aitken, riding Start Smart, achieved the highest percentage mark, scoring 73.39 in the Novice 27 class. The partnership also won the Novice 24 test with a score of 71.74.

Judging the second of the winter league competitions, held at the indoor school, Halkirk, was Kimberley Battleday from Fortrose.

Both senior introductory tests were won by Russell Skelton, of Team Skelton, who was making his debut in the dressage world riding his new cob Riley. They scored a very impressive 70.22 in the Intro C class.

Fearne McCarthy and her Welsh cob Boo also put on a great performance winning both the junior introductory tests.

On the Sunday young coach Frances Sutherland provided Evergreen lessons which went down well with all the riders taking part.

The next event in the riding club calendar is a weekend clinic with James Munro on November 28-29.
