It has been another busy week on the fairways and greens at Reay, with some mixed weather producing a range of scores.

Pam Bain fired the best gross score of the day with an excellent 79 which included birdies at the fifth and sixth on her way to a nett 69 and second place.

Pauline Craig was another player to finish well, posting a nett 70 to edge out Rosalind McQuaker on countback to take third. McQuaker did have the consolation of posting a fine birdie at the fifth hole.

Su Hawes was fifth on nett 71.

Round eight of the ladies' Stableford saw Tunn repeat the feat to top the standings again, this time managing just the three birdies at the fourth, 13th and 17th holes en route to a winning score of 35.

Sarah Meiklejohn birdied the seventh on her way to 34 points, while Carole Cameon birdied the fourth, also on her way to 34 points. Heather Campbell maintained her good recent form to finish on 34 points as well, with a good front nine providing the basis for her score.

In the gents' section, Sandy Chisholm took the Nuvia July Medal in wet and windy conditions, with a birdie at the ninth helping him to a winning score of 85 for nett 71.

Steve Efemey paired an outward half of 44 with a sizzling inward 38 which included a birdie at the 17th to take second place on nett 72. Kenny Farmer Jnr and Ian Farquhar were next best after both finished on nett 73.

In the latest North Point Distillery Senior Stableford action, Pete McCartney pipped Stuart Greig on countback after both posted fine scores of 38 points. David R Craig was next best on 37 points, with Murdo Macdonald a point further back on 36.

Round six of the Abbott Risk Consulting Summer Cup was another birdie-fest, with Willie Paton topping the leaderboard with an excellent tally of 44 points. This included a red-hot inward nine of 35, with a hat-trick of birdies at the 12th, 13th and 14th helping him along the way.

Tom Ross was another man on the birdie trail, firing no fewer than five at the third, fourth, 13th, 16th and 18th on his way to 39 points and second place.

Stuart Greig was edged into third on countback after also scoring 39 points, while three players, Brent Munro, Arthur Paton and John O’Brien, all finished on 38. Munro managed a brace of birdies at the 14th and 18th during his round, while O’Brien managed one at the third.
