The November weather meant only a couple of competitions were held over the Reay links in the past week, with some fine scores carded when play was possible.

The Winter League Stableford is open to both ladies and gents this year and the latest action saw Andrew Taylor top the leaderboard with an excellent haul of 40 points which came courtesy of a round of 79.

Pam Bain finished a point adrift on 39 points after a fine round of 78.

Lee Parnell took his third podium place in as many weeks after a birdie at the sixth helped him to a tremendous round of 73 for 38 points.

Jimmy Meiklejohn was left to rue one non-scoring hole as he finished fourth on countback after matching Parnell’s 38-point tally.

Jock Eunson took the glory in the latest action in the North Point Senior Stableford competition with an excellent 39 points which included a birdie at the short 15th hole.

Stuart Greig and Fred Groves both fired solid rounds of 83 to finish on 36 points, taking second and third place respectively, with Greig getting the nod for second on countback.

Colin Struthers, Willie Steven, who birdied the sixth, and Ian Ross, who birdied the 14th, were next best after all finished on 35 points.

In the overall standings, Struthers leads the way on a six-round aggregate score of 206, ahead of Malcolm Thomson on 203 and Alex Anderson on 197.

This weekend will see the Reay gents competing in round two of the Winter Eclectic and the ladies playing in round one of the Winter Stableford on Saturday, while on Sunday both ladies and gents will be able to compete in the next round of the Winter League Stableford.
