It has been an action packed week at Reay, with sunny skies, a plethora of low scores and two players achieving a hole in one among the highlights.

In the Nuvia Gents' April Medal, Simon Harper took the victory with a stellar score of 72 for nett 63. His halves of 37 and 35 included a brace of birdies at the fifth and 16th holes.

Murdo Macdonald produced an excellent round of 83, made up of halves of 41 and 42, for nett 64 and the runner-up place. Lee Parnell took third place with a fine round of 71 for nett 65, with birdies at the fourth and 11th.

Alex Anderson also managed two birdies during his round of 80 for nett 68 and fourth place.

Gregor Munro had to settle for fifth in the overall standings on countback, also on nett 68, but did have the distinction of posting the lowest gross score of the day, an excellent 67 which included birdies at the third, fourth, 14th and 16th.

Joe Wilson managed a rare eagle at the 14th hole, but it was not enough to force him into contention on the leaderboard.

The Corfin Bogey competition saw players use their handicap allowance competing against the course in a matchplay format of the game, and it was another day of low scoring. John O’Brien took the trophy ahead of Cammie Ross and Ian Farquhar after all finished three up on the course.

O’Brien’s win came courtesy of an excellent round of 72, made up of matching halves of 36, which included birdies at the first, 13th and 14th.

Ross managed a spectacular hole in one at the par-three ninth hole on his way to a round of 73 which also included birdies at the sixth and 13th holes.

Farquhar took third place thanks to a steady round of 82 made up of halves of 40 and 42. Tom Ross fired birdies at the fourth, ninth, 12th, 13th and 18th on his way to a round of 67 which gave him a score of two up.

Tyler Gordon was another man on the birdie trail, with birdies at the fifth, eighth, 14th and 18th helping him to a score of two up and fifth place.
