Prizes are well spread out in Thurso Golf Club ladies' competitions

Prizes were well spread out in competitions played by the Thurso Golf Club ladies' section last month.

Nineteen ladies competed in the June Medal (June 7), with first place going to Rachel Durrand with a nett score of 60. Anne Simmonite was runner-up with a nett score of 69.

There were 22 entrants in the June Extra Medal, won by Alice Fidler with a nett score of 67. Runner-up, with a nett score of 67, was Joy Fraser.

The Randall Competition (June 17), sponsored by J A Mackay grocers, was won by Alison Campbell and Cameron Reid.

On June 21, victory in the Pendleton Plate for handicaps less than 30 went to Laura Drummond (nett 73) ahead of runner-up Emma Drummond (nett 78). The Committee Cup for handicaps more than 30 was won by Fiona Calder (nett 69) with Isobel Mackay (nett 74) in second place.

Fiona Calder and Laura Drummond won the Smith Trophy pairs competition (June 27) and the runners-up were Hilary Geddes and Eileen Manson after both teams had a nett score of 74.
