Nicolson played great golf going out in one-under-par 34 with birdies at the third and eighth holes. He was two under par standing on the 13th tee after another birdie at the 11th but had bogeys at the 14th and 16th holes to come back in 35. Falconer has been playing well in recent weeks and maintained this fine run going out in 40, which included a birdie at the third hole, and back in 44, which included a quadruple bogey at the 15th.

Fourth was Greg Shearer (9) with a nett 68. Shearer had halves of 39 and 38 – including a birdie at the first hole.
