Ryan Campbell has signed a new contract with Wick Academy.

The 23-year-old midfielder has agreed to a new deal with the club which will keep at Harmsworth Park until the summer of 2025.

Campbell came through the youth ranks with Caithness United and Wick Academy before signing for the senior team in 2019 under former manager Tom McKenna.

The central midfielder played summer football for Wick Groats where he achieved success in the Caithness First Division and Highland Amateur Cup.

During his time at the club, Campbell has made 56 appearances for the first team and has scored seven goals.

This season he has played eight times for Wick Academy and has found the net twice.

He scored on the opening day of the season in the 2-1 defeat to Buckie Thistle, who snatched an injury-time winner.

He grabbed his second goal of the campaign at Harmsworth Park in the 1-1 draw against Rothes in September.

Campbell played in Wick Academy’s last match three weeks ago when they suffered a 5-2 defeat to Huntly at Christie Park.

Wick Academy will be without Jack Halliday for Tuesday’s match against Brora Rangers after he was sent off in their previous match against Huntly.

Joe Anderson is also suspended for the match with long-term injuries to Davie Allan and Sean Campbell also ruling them out.

Brora Rangers have two players out for the match against Wick Academy on Tuesday.

James Wallace has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury with goalkeeper Joe Malin also unavailable as he continues to recover from injury.
