The St Clair Cup was Caithness Small Bore Rifle Association’s last team competition of the winter season. The competition, shot at 15 yards, requires each of the four final team members to return one card and the team with the best aggregate score (ex 400) receives the silverware.

This year’s winners were Watten, with Pentland a close second.

The Daisy Trust Indoor Championship is confined to juniors who are members of a Caithness rifle club. Competitors must be under age 18 at the date of competition and the winner receives the Daisy 2000 Cup, to be retained for one year.

This year’s winner of the Daisy final was Grace Campbell (Halkirk).

The top nine seniors, based on their best 13 returns from the scheduled 15 in divisions one to five, competed in a shoulder-to-shoulder competition on the Westfield range for the Shearer Cup.

Finalists were required to compete in a three-way match, returning two cards in each, to gain five points for a win, three points for second place and one point for third.

Each shooter, in order to compete against all other finalists, had to participate in four matches and, in doing so, return eight cards. This year’s county champion was Jared Fraser (Halkirk).

The qualifying juniors, based on their best returns in the junior division, also meet on the Westfield range to compete for the A&D Trophy. The junior championship is a round-robin with two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero for a loss.

Grace Campbell (Halkirk) is this year’s junior county champion.
