The last competition for the juniors at Thurso Golf Club this year was the senior/junior event.

It involves a junior teaming up with an adult and they have alternate shots.

There was a great turnout of 43 juniors, which meant 86 competitors playing, and all enjoyed themselves.

Four pairs with handicaps competed for the main trophy, which was donated in 1981. The runners-up were the father and daughter pairing of Willie Mackay and Isla Mackay, but the clear winners – by 13 shots – were Alice Fidler and Rachel Durrand.

The other competitors all played five holes and there were joint winners. Both pairs had the exact same score on every hole, so there was no way of separating them.

They were Charles Fryett and Bryan Suttar, and Ethan Mackenzie with dad Doug Mackenzie
