A TOTAL of 20 golfers gathered for the annual Mackay’s Golf Challenge which was staged at Wick Golf Club on Sunday (May 6).

This is an annual social gathering of Mackay family and friends and is now in its ninth year, with some people travelling from Edinburgh and Aberdeen to take part.

This years best score came from James Green with an impressive round of 71 giving 43 points to win the John Mackay Cup.

The Bill Mackay Trophy for the best Stableford score over the five par threes went to George Mackay, who was also nearest the pin on the second, while the prize for longest drive on the fifth was won by Robert Mackay

The participants finished the evening with a prize-giving at Wick’s Norseman Hotel.
