Couples in combat at mixed open

SEVENTEEN couples took on the challenge of Reay Golf Course to play in the club’s mixed open.

Reay couple Cammy and Alison Ross breezed round the course with a gross score of 80 giving them an excellent nett 66 to lift the main prize.

Runners-up were Tim and Su Hawes (Reay), who scored a nett 71½.

The Ross’s playing partners Hannah McLean and Lemmy Thain (Wick) were third in the handicap, also on a nett 71 ½.

The scratch trophy went to the Brora pairing of Tony Gill and Angela Grant.
