Thurso Golf Club hosted its second sponsors' day competition, using the format of a two-man Texas scramble.

The club has built relationships with many local businesses over the past few years and is now supported by 24 sponsors.

Some sponsors provided their own team for the event and others had Thurso Golf Club members play for them.

The wet weather at the start didn’t affect the scores or dampen the mood of the players, and there was a close battle for the prizes.

The nearest-the-pin prize went to Chris Bacon, playing for the Ulbster Arms Hotel, who got his tee shot to 7ft 5in of the hole.

In third place, pipping the Park Hotel by half a shot, was Rock Rose who were represented by Charlie Keddie and Donald Bain.

One shot better to take second place were Janice Campbell and Alan Simmonite who were playing for JA Mackay's.

The winning team of the day by a remarkable 11 shots was Gary Youngson Wealth Management, represented by Gary McCallum and David Snashall.
