Jack Ryan emerged with a trophy on his debut in the Scottish Rally Championship, the McDonald and Munro Speyside Stages in Moray.

The 19-year-old from Castletown is in his first full year as a senior and will compete in a further six rallies as the season progresses.

Jack was alongside navigator Robin Nicolson, from Largs, in the Impreza.

The first two stages were in Elgin’s Cooper Park, with the next six in forest settings.

Although he had an off on stage three, which lost him two minutes, Jack fought back from 67th place to finish 37th overall – taking the Class 5 win and securing the Subaru Cup.

The next stop is the Jim Clark Reivers in Duns at the end of May.

Jack is keen to thank his sponsors, emphasising that without them he would not be able to compete. Anyone willing to sponsor Jack, and have their logo on his car, can contact Jack Ryan Racing on Facebook.
