Wick swimming pool is up for sale

HIGHLAND Council has put Wick swimming pool up for sale with the facility set to close when the new Wick High campus opens later this year.

It is advertised in Friday’s John O’Groat Journal with offers over £100,000 asked for the pool complex and associated gym.

The pool and gym are relocating to the new school campus which is expected to open in October when both will continue to be operated by High Life Highland and will see their opening hours increase from 76½ to 87 hours a week.

The town’s library in the Carnegie building Sinclair Terrace is also to close and relocate to the school campus.

Both facilities at the school will be open from 7am to 10pm on Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
