Wick church to host trinity of talks on brochs, photography and WWII
A trio of evening talks will take place at St John’s Church in Wick, covering topics related to brochs, photography and World War Two.
Over the next three months, a series of speakers will share their knowledge and passion on specialised subjects in St John’s Church, Moray Street, Wick.
The first talk is next Wednesday (July 9) at 7.30pm. Kenneth McElroy, of the Caithness Broch Project, will present his tale of ‘Tall Towers, Grass Roots’. It will be an opportunity to learn more about brochs, which abound in Caithness and are found throughout northern Scotland.
In August, Ken Crossan will share his journey to publishing his latest book. ‘Life at the edge: The Natural History of the Caithness Coast’. Ken is a national and international multi-award-winning photographer and naturalist.
Rounding off the trinity of talks in September will be Drew Guttridge from ‘Caithness at War’. This project highlights the importance of Wick and Sinclair’s Bay during World War II.
