Views on climate change to be sought at Wick workshop
Residents of Wick are being given a chance to have their say on how Scotland can best tackle climate change.
A workshop led by Scottish Government representatives on climate change policy will take place in the town later this month.
Scotland is working towards securing a net-zero and climate-resilient future with an ambitious target of a 75 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030.
The Scottish Government is asking people across the country for their views, saying "a fair and just transition to net-zero is only achievable by hearing many voices".
At the workshop, comments will be welcomed on sectors such as transport, the built environment and agriculture and on how communities can adapt to climate impacts. The aim is that opinions expressed during the process will help shape the policies that take Scotland to net-zero by 2045.

The Wick workshop is scheduled for July 27, from 10.30am to 1.30pm, at the East Caithness Community Facility and those wishing to take part must register their interest online in advance. Information about the event can be found on the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub website.
Those who attend and contribute will be rewarded with a £50 voucher as a gift of thanks.
Organisers say the sessions are restricted by capacity and attendees will be selected to ensure a wide range of voices. There will be further opportunities to engage on the policies being developed for anyone unable to attend or if the workshop is oversubscribed.
Wick residents can register their interest in attending the event at www.tickettailor.com/events/scottishgovernment/934861.
Light refreshments will be provided.
