UPDATE: Two casualties after A9 Tomich road accident





THERE have been two casualties following a two-vehicle collision on the A9 in Easter Ross.

The two-vehicle crash at Tomich happened on the A9 this afternoon.

Following the incident, which happened around 3.30pm today (September 23), Traffic Scotland has put signed diversions in place.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.47pm on Monday, September 23 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision at the Tomich junction on the A9 at Alness.

“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances two the scene and crews remain in attendance.

“Two casualties have been passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

The extent of the injuries is unknown.

As of 5.16pm, Traffic Scotland said: “The A9 at Tomich is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use the available signed diversion.”

Police are also understood to be at the scene.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
