At around 4.50pm yesterday (April 14) two cars were involved in a collision at a crossroads in Watten.

The driver and rear passenger doors of a Seat Ibiza were damaged and a Ford Mondeo was crushed at the front with its air bags being deployed within the vehicle. Police attended the scene of the crash, on the A882 road at the junction with the B870 just outside the Brown Trout Hotel, just after 5pm and helped direct traffic around it.

A Police Scotland spokesperson provided information at 6.39pm yesterday, as the vehicles were being removed, saying : “Officers are in attendance following a two-car crash on Station Road in Watten which was reported around 4.55pm on Thursday, 14 April, 2022. One person is being taken to hospital as a precaution.”

Another two-vehicle accident occurred at the same crossroads in October 2021. The road was resurfaced by Highland Council in September last year but has not yet had road markings painted at the junction.
