Trial of alleged threat of syringe attack begins
THE trial of a man charged with threatening to stab three people with a syringe which contained a liquid he claimed if injected could give someone AIDS began at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Peter Mackay pleaded not guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour causing fear and alarm to Shelley Davis, James Henderson and Marwin Roberts at 29 Henderson Street, Thurso on Monday, March 17.
He also denied of being in possession of a knife and shouting and swearing at the occupants at Henderson Street on the same day in question.
Only one witness, Mr Henderson (31) gave evidence during the first day of the trial when the jury heard he was walking a dog with three others earlier in the day in question.
Afterwards Mr Henderson said he went to Miss Roberts' house when he saw Mackay pass the window.

He told the court Miss Roberts prevented Mackay from getting into her house by holding the door closed, but he did not witness what actually happened.
Mr Barclay asked if Mackay got into the house to which the witness replied: “No she never let him in, she stopped him from getting in and he left.”
Mr Barclay then asked if he saw or heard Mackay at the door of the house, to which he said no.
“I was in the toilet at the time, I never saw him in the house.
“He left by the time I was there.”
“How did you know that she held the door?” asked Mr Barclay.
“She told me afterwards, he usually comes into the house,” replied Mr Henderson.
“Did you hold the door?” asked Mr Barclay.
“No,” said Mr Henderson.
