LATHERON and Reay are two of the venues on the tour schedule of a new production from Dogstar Theatre Company.

The Stornoway Way, adapted from the novel by Kevin MacNeil and directed by Matthew Zajac, enjoyed two sell-out performances at An Lanntair arts centre in Stornoway and will now begin touring in October, starting at the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh.

Latheron village hall will host the play on Tuesday, October 29, with Reay village hall staging it the following day.

Described as a romantic tragicomedy, the story follows Roman Stornoway, a struggling musician, and his best friend Eilidh (Rachel Kennedy), two disaffected under-achievers who use alcohol to fuel and delay their dreams of escape from the island of Lewis.

Eventually they make their way to the city, where Roman is smitten by a mysterious Hungarian student, Eva (Chloe-Ann Tylor), and things go terribly wrong.

The play is written in English and Gaelic with a cast of three young actors – Rachel Kennedy, Naomi Stirrat and Chloe-Ann Tylor.
