Thirty-two ploughmen will be competing in seven classes at Latheron Parish Ploughing Association’s 38th annual ploughing match this weekend.

It is taking place on Sunday at Tannach Mains, by permission of J & W Sinclair, Clachan. The start time is 9.30am and ploughmen need to be finished by 2pm.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 19, but was postponed because of the weather.

A minute’s silence will be observed at 11am for Remembrance Sunday.

The classes are 12” conventional, classic, two-furrow reversible, multi-furrow, demonstrator, vintage mounted and vintage trailing. The competitors include two juniors.

The presentation of prizes will take place at Puldagon restaurant at approximately 5pm.

Andrew Sinclair was the overall winner of Latheron Parish Ploughing Association’s 37th annual match in October last year – more than three decades after he last achieved the feat. The 2023 event was held at Reiss Lodge, by permission of Alex Gunn.
