Organisers of Sutherland's County Show have called off this year's event.

It means neither the Caithness nor Sutherland agricultural shows will take place in 2020 because of the coronavirus crisis.

Sutherland Agricultural Society said it had “very sadly” made the decision to cancel.

A statement on its website said: “Naturally we are very disappointed, but in these challenging times the health and safety of all of those involved in the show is the most important thing.”

The event had been due to take place on its usual site at Dornoch on July 25.

Organisers have set a date of the 2021 show on July 24.

The Caithness show in 2021 is scheduled for July 16-17.
