Police in the Highlands are appealing for information following a number of suspicious incidents near vacant properties in the area around West Watten in Caithness and Rogart in Sutherland.

On Sunday a group of people in a grey car and a black van were seen at a property in the rural area near West Watten. On Tuesday, two occupants of a grey car were disturbed at a vacant property at Rogart.

Constable Claire Sutcliffe at Wick said: "We want to hear from anyone who may have any information which could assist us in identifying those involved in these incidents. I would also take this opportunity to remind those who may have any properties which are vacant to ensure that they, and any outbuildings, are fully secured and that they are checked regularly.

"Anyone who has any information which they wish to pass to us can do so on the 101 number, quoting the reference number 2780 of 13 October."
