Star search launched for Commonwealth Games ceremonies
A SEARCH has been launched to find 3000 people to be the stars of the opening and closing ceremonies at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in six months’ time.
A mass cast recruitment is now under way to find the individuals who will be involved in the parties, to be held at Celtic Park and Hampden Stadium, which will be seen by live audiences of more than 40,000 people and a potential global television audience of more than one billion.
Applications to be part of the cast have now opened and will be accepted until February 14, with auditions due to take place in March.
To take part people must be aged 18 or over by March 1, available to attend auditions in Glasgow and to rehearse and attend the performance.
All mass cast places are voluntary and no previous experience is required. Organisers are looking for enthusiastic people who are willing to represent Glasgow and Scotland and contribute their passion, talent, energy and positive spirit to the ceremonies.
There are still a limited number of tickets available for the opening ceremony. For details go to www.glasgow2014.com or call 0844 826 2014.
