In a break with tradition, exhibitors who won trophies at the Caithness County Show received their silverware during a floral art demonstration in Murkle Hall.

In previous years the trophies were handed over on the show field at the end of the afternoon.

Among the winners was Emma Crowden, from Halkirk. The seven-year-old won the trophy for the best single rose in the adult classes of the Caithness County Show flower section – beating her mother Kelly Sutherland into second place.

Emma received the Caithness Agricultural Society Flower Show Perpetual Trophy during the presentation of silverware.
