CUMBRIA Police have confirmed that the body found off the North Sutherland coast was that of a man who went missing from his home in Kendal.

Christopher Strange (59) was found by search and rescue teams in the water at Neave Island near Tongue on Tuesday afternoon after he was reported missing from his home in North-west England on Monday.

Cumbria Police put out an appeal for his whereabouts and it was suspected he had driven to the Highlands in a green Vauxhall car.
