Pupils from Pennyland Primary's P7 class were thrilled to each receive handwritten letters from local MP Jamie Stone in response to a query they had.
Following their concerns about potentially missing out on their end of primary school residential trip to Loch Eil Outdoor Centre due to Covid, they wrote to Mr Stone last month to see if the government could help provide funding to keep outdoor centres open.
Class teacher Norma Mill said: "They were delighted when he replied and thrilled to receive hand-written letters in which he said he would try to help and that he would maybe even come on the trip too.
"We had hoped he would be able to come to school when he is in the area this week but that can’t happen at the moment."
A special report by Ola Omand for Pennyland News said that many businesses have been struggling due to the pandemic.
The school newspaper report continued: "The Primary Sevens said they thought it was extremely unfair that they could not go on their trip, as they've missed out on so much already.
"Mr Stone replied that he would see what he can do with the funding, and he really liked the children's letters. The school pupils were very pleased with their replies, and their teacher said that it's something to cherish and be proud of.
"These strange times are very difficult to adapt to, but with a small letter from some children can really make a difference.
"Now, Mr Stone is working on funding outdoor centres across Scotland, and trips across the nation don't seem too far in the distant future."
