Nomadic Boulders sculpture unveiling at John O'Groats
THE newest landmark in Caithness is set to be unveiled in a spectacular opening ceremony at John O’Groats on Halloween.
The Nomadic Boulders will be officially opened on Saturday afternoon as hundreds are expected to attend to get their first glimpse of the new focal point.
The piece has been created by Dundee artist Dalziel + Scullion who HIE commissioned at a cost of £118,000.
It celebrates the natural occurrence of large boulders on the seabed of the Pentland Firth rolling backwards and forwards with the tides.
Artists Dalziel + Scullion will be giving an illustrated talk at the Storehouse Cafe tomorrow at 3pm followed by Mr Sutherland also giving a talk on his contribution to the work at 3.30pm.
The opening ceremony begins at 5pm.
