More people should now be able to enjoy a walk down to the beach at Armadale thanks to a newly fenced off footpath.

The project was funded by the Scottish Government's Agric-Environment Climate Scheme under standard costs, with the proposal drawn up by Cameron Consulting, Halkirk. Work on the path, picnic area, fencing and the creation of a new bridge was carried out by Gary Elder Groundworks with the information boards made by Watten Signs.

Delighted with how the finished project looks, north coast farmer Joyce Campbell of Armadale Farm said: "During the pandemic we recognised the need to improve access onto the beach through the land we farm for more folk to enjoy the benefits that a nice walk in beautiful surroundings can bring."

Walkers and their dogs are now completely fenced off from livestock as they take the path, which runs along beside the burn, down to the beach.
