Keiss pupils mark Remembrance Day
In common with many other schools across the Highlands recently Keiss Primary and Nursery also marked Remembrance Day.
On Monday, November 11 children and staff participated in a walk to the village memorial, with parents and other family members also invited to join them.

At the memorial, the children took on various roles to contribute to the service.
Some held posters featuring Article 38 of the UNCRC on either side of the memorial, highlighting the rights of children in relation to armed forces, emphasising the importance of protecting them during conflicts.
Other children welcomed attendees to the service, while some recited poignant poems, including ‘Flanders Fields’ and ‘For the Fallen’.
The service concluded with a two-minute silence to honour those who sacrificed their lives in war.
After returning to school, the children were treated to tea and toast, providing a comforting moment to reflect on the morning’s events.
Head teacher Mrs Sinclair said: “At Keiss Primary School, we believe it is vital to teach children about the significance of Remembrance Day, fostering an understanding of history, respect for those who served, and awareness of the impact of conflict on individuals and communities.
“Through this commemoration, we aim to instil values of empathy and gratitude in our pupils.”
