Is this a Teletubby time traveller?

THE Teletubbies were a phenomenon of the 1990s and beyond… but an intriguing find suggests that the children’s TV favourites may have had a predecessor in Caithness more than 100 years ago!

The curious-looking cartoon character was part of a Christmas gift list created for the late Lady Jessamine Harmsworth, who lived at Thrumster House, near Wick. Alongside photos of the baby Jessamine, born in 1910, are colourful sketches of an abacus, toys and dolls… one of which seems to have a striking resemblance to a Teletubby.
