WICK SHERIFF COURT: Drug dealer warned he could face arrest warrant if he fails to turn up at court again
A convicted drug dealer seeking the return of more than £3000 seized by police may be arrested if he fails to turn up at Wick Sheriff Court for a third time.
Raymond Daulby was due in court on Tuesday to argue his claim to the cash he insists was legitimately earned by working as a self-employed bus mechanic around the country.
Sheriff Mark Thorley was told that efforts to get in touch with Daulby – whose legal representative withdrew from the case because of a lack of input from him – had proved unsuccessful.
Further efforts will now be made to make contact with the 49-year-old at his last known address, his brother's home in Crosby, Liverpool.
The sheriff warned that if Daulby failed to appear on the next date scheduled for his case, then a warrant for his arrest might be issued.

Daulby was jailed for a year last August after he was found guilty of having been concerned in the supply of drugs. He denied the charge but admitted possession of the 18g of heroin.
Police officers stopped his vehicle near to his then home, in Park Avenue, Thurso, on December 14, 2019. Officers recovered the Class A drug and £3219.
In order to reclaim the cash, Daulby, of Archiestown in Moray, will have to prove to the Crown's Proceeds of Crime Unit that it was earned legitimately.
At the end of the trial, Sheriff Mungo Bovey described Daulby's evidence as "unworthy of belief" and commented that his financial bookkeeping did the accused "no favours".
Daulby's solicitor Josey Donachie withdrew from representing him last week, complaining of a lack of input from him in the preparation of his case.
