Sir - I am writing to let your readers know about a forthcoming event at the Wick Heritage Society on Tuesday, 20th November, which is being co-ordinated by Science O3.

Harry Gray, chairman of Wick Heritage Society, will be delivering a talk on the history of Wick Radio (GKR). This presentation will include photographs and stories about the radio station (which was once one of the busiest in the UK) and its role in coastal and shipping communications. Chris Aitken, computing science teacher from Wick High School, will be then demonstrating how modern communication technology is revolutionising schools and homes.

We hope that anyone with an interest in or connection to GKR or who might also want to learn more about the latest in communications technology, will join us at the heritage centre on the 20th.

This is a free event and more information can be obtained from me by email at helen@kptechnology.ltd.uk or by telephone on 01955 602 777.

Helen Ellis,

Secretary,

Science O3,

12A Burn Street,

Wick.
