A YOUNG Caithness hairdresser is making headlines after winning an award at North Highland College UHI.

Chloe Plowman has proved she is a cut above the rest when she won the Hairdresser of the Year award at the Thurso college and received a trophy and certificate.

Nineteen-year-old Chloe has been attending the college to do courses on a day-release basis but works at Headlines in Union Street in Wick.

Chloe, who trained as a hairdresser after leaving Wick High, has now been put forward by the college for the Scottish Modern Apprentice of the Year.

She lives in Papigoe with her mother and father, Mhari Ann and Eann Plowman and has two sisters, Becky who is 18 and 14-year-old Jade.
