Castletown bus stop gripe

More bus stops are required in Castletown, claims the community council.

CASTLETOWN needs more bus stops, according to the local community council.

Members are again to press Highland Council for some additional bus stops in the village.

Secretary Liz Geddes says one is needed at the local primary school while a further two should be installed at the top and bottom of Main Street.

She said there are bus stops on one side of the road at these locations but not on the other. It would be better if there were bus stops on both sides, stated Mrs Geddes. Community councillors are unaware of any difficulties with buses not picking up passengers but are concerned that this could happen if there is no official stop.

They are to take the matter up again with Highland Council to see if the additional bus stops can be erected.
