GARY Anderson is to travel to Wick at the end of the year as part of his bid to secure a hat-trick of PDC World Darts Championships.
Anderson won his second title after defeating Adrian Lewis 7-5 at Alexandra Palace in London earlier this month.
Wick and District Darts League (WDDL) has confirmed Anderson is booked to play in an exhibition on December 7, a month before he is due to defend the championship.
Anderson is the third Scotsman to be crowned a world darts champion, following in the footsteps of the legendary Jocky Wilson, who won it in 1982 and 1989, and Les Wallace who won the BDO title in 1997.
With a huge fan base in the far north, League secretary Davy Crowden said Anderson’s arrival will see a huge demand for tickets.
“The venue still has to be organised but I have had it confirmed, he will be coming to Wick,” he said.
“He has a massive support up here and has always proved popular when he has visited the area in the past.
