Wintry weather means postponement of Wick Academy match against Lossiemouth

Wick Academy's scheduled home game against Lossiemouth this weekend has fallen victim to the wintry weather.

It is one of seven Highland League fixtures that have been postponed because of frost and snow.

The Caithness derby in the North Caledonian League has also been called off, with a frozen pitch meaning Thurso's home match against Halkirk United will need to be rearranged for later in the season.

In the Highland League, Deveronvale v Nairn County is still scheduled to go ahead, while a Saturday morning inspection will determine whether Fraserburgh v Strathspey Thistle can proceed.

Wick Academy v Lossiemouth is the first weather-related postponement at Harmsworth Park since February 2020, with the pitch having benefited from the club's investment in new drainage.

Saturday's other Highland League postponements are Brora Rangers v Rothes, Buckie Thistle v Brechin City, Formartine United v Inverurie Locos, Huntly v Forres Mechanics, Keith v Banks O' Dee and Turriff United v Clachnacuddin.
