Wick Thistle manager hopes victory over Lybster will boost confidence
Manager Owen Harrold hailed Wick Thistle’s 3-1 victory over Lybster in midweek as the Jags’ best performance of the season so far.
Jayden Bremner hit a hat-trick as bottom club Thistle moved to within one point of Castletown and John O’Groats in Caithness AFA Division One.
Gary Weir scored for Lybster.
Harrold said: “It was a very important win for us and by far our best performance so far this season.
“We defended excellently for the full 90 minutes and looked dangerous every time we got into the final third.

“We played some brilliant football at times and everyone was battling until the last kick of the game.
“Hopefully this will give us the confidence to push on now and start getting more points on the board.”
Swifts came from a goal down to beat Acks 3-1 in Wednesday night’s Thurso derby.
Harvey Labor put Acks in front but Swifts replied with goals from Ebisine Ambakederemo, Robbie Boyd and John Mullally.
