Wick Amateur Swimming Club members came home with a large haul of medals from the Orkney Mini Meet held at the Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall.

The local club joined teams from Orkney, Shetland and Inverness for the event, which was held on November 6. Some of the travel costs were met through generous sponsorship from Pentland Ferries.

All swimmers achieved personal bests and it was the first time the younger members had competed for the club away from home. Weather conditions that weekend meant the team were stranded in Orkney until the Monday, however they made the most of their extended holiday.
