Wick Old Stagers seven points clear in winter shooting league

Round 12 of Caithness Small Bore Rifle Association’s winter league had six shooters with the maximum score of 100 – H Simpson (Wick Old Stagers), J G Campbell (Halkirk), P Sutherland (Stirkoke) and R Murray (Banff & Macduff) in Division One, along with G Mackay (Watten) and S Dalgarno (Dufftown) in Division Two.

Wick Old Stagers A now lead Pentland A by seven points at the top of Division One, while Division Two sees Dufftown A with a one-point advantage over Wick Old Stagers B.

The Division Three leaders Halkirk B are two points clear of Dingwall, and Keiss have a similar gap over Halkirk C in Division Four.

In Division Five the lead has swapped again with Dufftown B moving into top spot, a point clear of Stirkoke D. Westfield C now lead Watten D by four points in Division Six.

The Junior Team League sees Westfield D in first place, leading Halkirk E by four points.

Caitlin Green (left), of Westfield, has continued her domination of the Daisy 2000 junior shooting events by once again winning the indoor trophy, which she first won last year. She is also the holder of the Daisy outdoor trophy which she won in 2018 and again in 2019. The Thurso High School pupil was the first female to have won a Daisy 2000 trophy and has now had four consecutive wins.
