WICK Groats made history this year when they became the first Caithness amateur football club to win all five major county trophies in a single season.

The grand slam was completed when they secured their fourth title in a row after beating John O’Groats 3-1 on the final day of the season.

Their sixth title in the last seven years added to the Colin Macleod Cup, the Eain Mackintosh Cup, the David Allan Shield and the biggest prize of them all, the Highland Amateur Cup, which they won for only the second time in its history.

The players marked the occasion with a special team photograph on Wednesday night. There was also individual success for Graham MacNab who was named the 2015 Caithness Amateur Football Association Player of the Year.
