Wick and District Darts League: Castletown lose out while Seaforth 'B' benefit from rule change

Magnus Adamson helped Alison Tait's Seaforth ladies take full advantage of the Wick and District Darts League rule change allowing mixed-sex teams as they defeated Harper's "C" in Division Two this week.

Skye Blackwell was on good form for the visitors.

David Simpson hit the heights and was undefeated for the Queen's as they went up to second place in Division Two by beating the Park Hotel in Thurso.

Claire Thain won her singles to become the first player to take a point off the leaders, Lybster's Comm.

In the top flight there was a sensational result as previously undefeated Castletown lost to Alan Forbes's side in Thrumster.

Seaview continued their dominance against Harper's "B", while George Baker's rejuvenated Harper's team came back from Castletown having taken full points against the Poachers.

John "Dousa" Gunn hit the season's highest outshot on 157.

Norseman moved up to third with a hard-fought win against the Old Smiddy Inn.

Jocky Plowman (treasurer) made a rare appearance and won the battle of the office-bearers against David Miller (chairperson).

Results – Division One: Smiddy "3" 7, Castletown 1; Seaview 7, Harper's "B" 1; Norseman 5, Old Smiddy Inn 3; Smiddy "2" 1, Seaforth 7; Castletown Poachers 3, Harper's 5.

Division Two: Park 3, Queen's 5; Queen's ladies 1, Comm 7; Harper's "C" 3, Seaforth "B" ladies 5; Camps ladies 2, Smiddy "4" 6.
