Wednesday's Highland League meeting between Strathspey Thistle and Wick Academy has been postponed – the first casualty ahead of a midweek calendar facing a battle against the recent cold snap.

With Seaboard Park snowbound and forecasts of minus temperatures and fog ahead, officials elected to call the game off early.

The postponement is in stark contrast to the past weekend, when the Grantown side and Banks o' Dee staged the only game of the day in Aberdeen on the more resilient surface of Spain Park – the only artificial park in the league.

Academy's next Highland League fixture will be at home to Banks o' Dee this Saturday, December 9.
