Manager Gary Manson says he is hopeful Joe Anderson, Gordon MacNab and Graeme Williamson will all be available for selection for Wick Academy's Highland League clash away to Clachnacuddin on Saturday.

The trio are in contention to return to the squad after being absent in the 1-0 defeat against Buckie Thistle at Harmsworth Park last weekend.

Manson says Anderson and MacNab are almost certain to be back but he is unsure whether Williamson will start in goal.

Part of the reason is he was impressed with the performance of James More against Buckie Thistle last Saturday as he made a number of saves that kept Wick in the game.

“Joe Anderson was suspended for the Buckie game and is definitely available for us,” Manson confirmed.

MacNab and Williamson missed the Buckie game due to a flu bug.

“James More deputised really well for Graeme last weekend and I will need to decide if Graeme comes straight back into the team,” Manson said. “We are fortunate to have two good goalkeepers in our squad.

“Having Gordon and Joe also gives us options on the pitch.”

Jack Halliday is still out through suspension.

Clachnacuddin recorded a stunning 4-2 victory at Inverurie Locos last weekend, in what has been an inconsistent season for the Lilywhites.

Clach are level on points with Wick, but are one place below them in 14th. The Scorries won 1-0 when the teams met at Harmsworth Park in August, after Clach had won 3-0 at home in a North Cup tie.

Manson says Clach are a team that are hard to predict.

“We have played them twice this season and it was two very different performances from Clach,” he said.

“They are inconsistent – we will need to see what we get from them.

“They showed against Inverurie that they are a very capable team and it will be a tough game for us.”
