Wick Academy player of the year awards handed over after last game

The annual Wick Academy player of the year awards were presented at the club's end-of-season function in Harper's Bar and Function Suite on Saturday.

It followed the Scorries' 2-2 draw with Lossiemouth on the last day of the Highland League campaign.

Gordon MacNab picked up two trophies – the Bill Mackay Memorial Golden Boot for top scorer and the Michael McNeil Trophy for Goal of the Season, for the second of his two strikes against Lossiemouth earlier in the day.

Alan Hughes had received the George Munro Memorial Cup for Supporters' Player of the Year immediately after the match.

Award winners were – Supporters' Player of the Year: Alan Hughes

Players' Player of the Year: Ross Allan

John Henderson Shield for Young Player of the Year: Mark Macadie

Bill Mackay Memorial Golden Boot (top scorer): Gordon MacNab

Michael McNeil Trophy for Goal of the Season: Gordon MacNab (v Lossiemouth)

Dot McLachlan Trophy for Most Improved Player: Conor Farquhar
