The midfielder has received treatment for a hernia and will be missing for at least six weeks for the Scorries.

The news comes as Wick Academy prepare to host Lossiemouth at Harmsworth Park in the Highland League on Saturday.

Manager Gary Manson has confirmed the midfielder is not expected back until at least February as he recovers from his operation.

“Sean has just had a hernia operation on Wednesday,” confirmed Manson.

“He will be out for at least six to seven weeks.

“We have players missing, but we should be in a strong position for Saturday.”

Jack Halliday is suspended after being sent off in the 5-2 defeat against Huntly in the previous match.

Joe Anderson is also suspended for the match with long-term injuries to Davie Allan and Sean Campbell.

Wick Academy’s scheduled clash at Turriff United last weekend was called off due to heavy snowfall which fell in Aberdeenshire.

Lossiemouth had an encouraging start to the campaign, including a 2-1 victory over Wick Academy at Grant Park back in August.

But their form has dipped since the early weeks of the campaign as they have dropped to 14th in the table and are only one place and one point behind Wick Academy in 13th.

Manson says looking at Lossiemouth’s squad, he is expecting a tough afternoon at Harmsworth Park.

“They beat us down at Lossiemouth earlier this season, but it was a bit of a false game,” he said.

“We were 1-0 up and then we got a man sent off which is not like us.

They went and scored two goals and got the winner with the last kick of the game.

“We know what they are capable of, they are a dangerous team on their day.

“You can’t take anyone lightly, no matter how their form is.

“It is a game where we are looking to take three points from, but we know that it will be a tough test.

“We want to right the wrong from earlier this season and take the three points.”

Whether the match will be able to go ahead on Saturday depends if the cold blast continues over the weekend.

Temperatures were expected to fall down to -2 last night however it was expected to remain above freezing in Wick last night.

It is only expected to reach as low as two degrees celsius tonight with it predicted to be five degrees celsius at kick off tomorrow.
